Tennis greats to fight it out at Wimbledon

Is tennis the best sport? Wimbledon, the biggest tournament of the tennis calendar, is starting this week in London. The best players in the sport’s history are competing to win it.
What’s happening
People from all around the world are travelling to Wimbledon for two weeks of sun, strawberries and cream.
It is the world’s most famous tennis tournament. Top players, like Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, will be competing.
Find out more
Roger Federer has won 20 tennis Grand Slams. That is more than any other male player ever.
British player Andy Murray has two Wimbledon titles.
This time, he cannot play in the singles competition because he is injured. Instead, he will play doubles.
Last week, he won the doubles contest at a different tournament called Queens.
Around half a million people go to watch tennis at Wimbledon every year. Is it the best sport?
Some say…
Yes. The best players in its history are competing now. It is amazing to see how hard they work to be the best.
Others think…
No. Team sports, like football, are better when people work together. I will be watching the Women’s World Cup instead.
